Total weekly mileage: 11/30
Damn.
I started going out at midnight on Saturday. It was a long night. By the time I got up did laundry, and made a half-assed effort at cleaning the apartment, I was at the point where I had to start running or the sun would be down before I finished. I considered bonking again, but remember how beligerant I had been the previous night about getting home before daylight so I could sleep and then run, and my guilt about being “that girl” got me out the door.
That was eleven solid fucking miles. Miles four and ten got to me a little, but never once did I consider stopping or turning around early. My legs were moving so evenly it felt like I was standing still. The lake was all sorts of beautiful and the 45 degree weather had brought out all kinds of people to run with. I finished in a solid 1:24:17, 7:40 per mile pace, faster than my half-marathon last year. I promptly and solidly passed out on the couch.
I think I’m ready for anything. Signed up for Shamrock Shuffle. We’ll see what’s next in the hopper.
The run is over. Now what?
