Crunch lunch

Tuesday’s workout:

Time: 12 p.m.

Location: Crunch

The workout: 7 miles on the treadmill, pure and simple.

The music: The White Stipes “Icky Thump,” Regina Spektor “Begin to Hope”

Felt like: Maybe I wouldn’t quite make it. Who knew? Went iffy during miles four and five and recovered in mile 7.

Total weekly mileage: 18/30

Always tough to say “No, ppl I don’t want to go to lunch, my skanky ass has to run,” but sometimes you’ve gotta do it. I almost wanted to, just so I could lay around at home tonight, make a good dinner, watch some TV, take a shower, blog, read some Rolling Stone, spend too much time on AIM with latasians. But once I got started I knew I would never hit 8.5 mph today.

My muscles are just TIGHT. Everywhere, can’t loosen anything up. I should probably look into yoga or stretching or getting a massage because lifting my calves feels like picking up a bag of bricks. I think I’ll schedule a massage for my favorite day off, President’s Day. In the meantime, maybe less heeled shoe wearing, more stretching, etc.

Still thinking about the running schedule for 2008.

The run is over. Now what?
