Different tread

Sunday’s workout

Time: 11:45 a.m.

Location: This is a new one- my parent’s basement treadmill

The workout: 10.75 miles on the treadmill, plus about ten minutes of walking. The run took about 1:22

The music: Out in the ‘thrill, there’s a TV above the treadmill, so I actually watched the second half of “Uptown Girls” and the first quarter of “George of the Jungle” instead of listening to music.

Felt like: I could have run forever. Almost kept going after the designated 10.75 was done, even though I was already running 8.7 mph, which is relatively fast for me.

Total weekly mileage: 10.75/30

Maybe it was the change of pace from the gym or the fact that I was alone, but this was the best long run I’ve had in at least four weeks. I never thought I might puke, nor did I feel like I needed to grab my ankles when it was all over. I ate and slept quite a bit afterwards, but it was the healthy kind instead of the complete binge it sometimes feels like.

I’m a bit disappointed that they’ve discontinued Gatorade Endurance Formula. I rocked the water during the run, but when I was finished I felt like I had nothing in me so I downed a granola bar and, in vain, a 20 oz. of the new G2- the half-calorie version of Gatorade. I felt like I didn’t digest very much, I feel like everything just absorbed into the walls of my stomach. G2 also only comes in the wussy generic flavors and has an inferior taste to the similar Gatorage

The run is over. Now what?
