I’m not dead yet

Tuesday’s workout:
Time: 535 p.m.
Location: Crunch (note: Chicago’s in the process of getting bitterly cold)
The workout: 30 minutes (3.95 miles) on the treadmill, a few weights (birthing and anti-birthing machines, gluteal isolator), 45 minute spin, 15 minute ab workout
The music: Again, never put on the iPod. Whatever they’re playing there these days is working for me. Today included White Stripes, Incubus and Red Hot Chili Peppers
Felt like: As much as I felt like skipping out, it went smoothly. The run was fast and strong, the spin went by quickly. The abs, again, still an issue, but maybe won’t be as much next week?
I hate this time of month at work because it’s all about taking care of the final details on one issue of the paper and starting out on the focus of the next issue of the paper. And it’s another month of commercial real estate finance reporting. Plus, I just need a change of pace, a new angle, on a lot of parts of life.
The run and bike got me thinking about all that and I think I’ve officially decided to train for the Chicago Marathon. I plan to join a training group in the interest of meeting new people, maybe some people who think about things that aren’t real estate and journalism and running, because I think that’s all I think about right now.
Maybe I’m just in a mood, but the only time I felt good today was when I was in sprint mode. EVERYTHING is too boring for me. I need to start moving faster in life and not just in my workouts.
The run is over. Now what?
