Somebody’s got a case of the Mondays…

Today’s workout:
Time: 7:10 a.m.
Location: Crunch
Workout: 16 minutes (2.07 miles) warm up on the treadmill, upper body weights, 16 minutes (2.15 miles) cool down on the treadmill.
Music: Spoon (Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga) and Peter Bjorn and John (Writer’s Block)
Felt like: absolute shit.
Total weekly mileage: 14.42/30

Running and working out are such a part of my routine that I don’t even flinch when the alarm goes off at 6 a.m. … 99 percent of the time. The one percent of the time that it hurts to get up that early, though, it REALLY hurts.
I talk myself into working out every Monday before work so that I don’t have to think about it later in the week. I forget that in addition to my long run traditionally falling on Sunday, I do more physical labor, like cleaning my apartment, dragging my laundry down to the first floor and back up from my third floor non-elevator unit, grocery (and general) shopping on the weekends.
As for the weights, I’m relatively pleased with the assisted pull-ups and assisted dips, but I still need work on the rear deltoid machine and pretty much anything involving shoulders. I should probably also start a more structured ab routine.
After this workout, the feeling like butt didn’t stop. Everything below my ass and behind the seam that separates my quads from my hamstrings was in a constant dull throbbing pain. NOTE: this might be partially because of the four inch stiletto heel knee high boots.
The good things: it’s warm in Chicago, and I’m sleeping in tomorrow

The run is over. Now what?
